BC Finishes Eighth at Bandon Dunes Championship

Ben Hong fires final round 70 (-1); ties for 15th place
BANDON, Ore. -- Boston College finished seventh overall at the Bandon Dunes Championship, held on the Bandon Trails course at the world famous golf resort. The Eagles registered a three-round team score of 893, registering single-day scores of 303-295-295. Eight strokes separated fourth through seventh place.
Ben Hong posted the best round of the tournament for BC during Tuesday's final round, finishing up with a 1-under par 70. Hong posted a nearly clean scorecard, with two birdies and 15 pars on the day. He tied for 15th place (74-78-70=222).
Tommy Mangan, competing as an individual, also tied for 15th place. His best scores of the tournament came during the first and final rounds, posting 2-over 73's on both Sunday and Tuesday.
Brian Xu (78-74-73=225) tied for 31st place, improving his score in each round, culminating in a 2-over 73 during Tuesday's round. Markus Lam (78-72-76=226) finished one stroke behind Xu in a tie for 38th. Lam's best round was a 1-over 72 during Monday's second round. Jack Pogorelc finished in a tie for 40th place (73-73-81=227), opening with a pair of 73's during the first two days of play.
Christian Emmerich finished in 60th place (80-76-76=232), carding a pair of 76's to close tourney play.
The Eagles ranked sixth among the field in par 3 (3.35 avg, +19) and par 4 (4.27 avg, +44) scoring, while finishing seventh (4.95 avg, -2) on par 5 holes. BC ranked third in birdies, with 39.
