Eagles Embark for Virginia With Central Virginia Challenge On Deck

Birdball begins stretch of seven road games over the next ten days
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Boston College Baseball (2-3, 0-0) will begin their their week-three road trip with the Central Virginia Challenge, a three-game round robin against William & Mary, Richmond, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
The Eagles return to Central Virginia for their second straight year in this challenge. In 2024, the Eagles went 2-1, with wins over William & Mary and Richmond.
The William & Mary File
The Eagles are 2-1 all-time against The Tribe, taking the most recent meeting during the same weekend last year, winning 9-7 in Williamsburg. Boston College won a thriller in last year's contest, erasing a 6-2 second-inning deficit to draw even at 6-6. Vince Cimini delivered a cluch RBI single in the 6th inning, and Tyler Mudd struck out eight batters over 4.1 one-run innings to keep the Eagles in control.
The Richmond File
The Eagles are 1-0 all-time against Richmond, winning the first matchup between the schools 7-2 on March 1st of last year. In the last meeting, Sam McNulty logged two RBI, and Eric Schroeder closed the game with two scoreless innings of relief, striking out four with just one hit allowed and one walk issued.
The VCU File
The Eagles are 0-2 all-time against VCU, losing the most recent matchup, 10-1 on March 3rd of last year. Nick Wang went 2-for-3 with a double in the loss.
The Eagles begin the challenge on Friday afternoon, with an additional mid-week against Richmond scheduled for this Wednesday.
