Kelly Colleran picked up her fifth win of the season
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Boston College softball (8-5) picked up their third win of the weekend, beating East Carolina University 6-5 on Sunday afternoon. Kelly Colleran was back in the circle for the Eagles, earning her fifth win of the season, striking out five batters.
The action started in the first inning as Jordan Stephens sent a two-run shot over the left field wall to put BC up 2-0, however the Pirates would strike back in the bottom of the inning to even the score.Â
Through four innings, ECU led 4-2, but Hannah Slike would tie the game in the top of the fifth, driving in two runs. The Pirates scored another in the sixth, making it 5-4 and giving the Eagles one final chance to take the lead in the top of the seventh. Zoe Hines capitalized on that chance by hitting a two-run home run over the left field wall, her first of the season. Stephens, Hines, and Slike each recorded two RBIs.
Up next: BC will travel to California for spring break on March 4th, where they'll play five games and start ACC play with a three game series at the University of California.
