Freshman Bailey Kendziorski picked up her first collegiate win
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Boston College softball (9-5) defeated the Santa Clara University Broncos by a score of 3-2 in a nine-inning affair on Tuesday evening at the Santa Clara Softball Stadium.
The Eagles got on the board first in the top of the second inning, thanks to a two-run double from Meghan Schouten, who drove in Zoe Hines and Jordan Stephens, however the Broncos struck back in the bottom of the third to even the score at 2-2. Neither team scored another run through seven innings, sending the game to extra innings.
In the top of the ninth, Jordan Stephens hit a lead off double, followed by Zoe Hines advancing her to third with a sacrifice bunt. Abby Ptak then drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to center field for her second RBI of the season.Â
Bailey Kendziorski picked up her first collegiate win, pitching 4.1 innings in relief, striking out two batters, while only giving up two hits.
On deck: The Eagles are back in action tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. EST as they take on San Jose State University. The game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
