Despite 22 from Hand Jr., Eagles Fall 70-62 at N.C. State

Quick turnaround for BC, hosting Virginia Tech on Tuesday night
RALEIGH, N.C. — Donald Hand Jr. scored a game-high 22 points and Chad Venning added 14 points and eight rebounds in a 70-62 loss at N.C. State on Saturday.
Hand connected on six field goals - three from beyond the arc - and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Â He also added six boards in 35 minutes. Â Venning scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, making 5-of-10 shots from the floor.
Boston College committed 14 first half turnovers, digging itself into a double-digit hole early on. Â The Eagles took better care of the ball and upped its defensive effort in the second half, getting as close as eight points late, but it was not enough.
Chas Kelley III came off the bench to tally 10 points and a team-high four assists in 29 minutes. Â Fred Payne narrowly missed a double-double, with nine points and eight boards.
