Steven Jackson Breaks School Record as Track & Field Completes Busy Weekend

The Eagles race at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the Harvard Invitational over the weekend
BOSTON, Mass. – Steven Jackson earns the school record for the Men's mile, while The Boston College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the Harvard Invitational on Friday and Saturday.Â
Boston College competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the BU Track & Tennis Center on Friday and Saturday, while the Eagles also took part in the Harvard Invitational at the Gordon Indoor Track. The Eagles had athletes competing in both running and field events on the weekend.Â
Steven Jackson earned a personal-best time of 3:54.70 in the mile, which is also good for a school record. The Eagles also earned nine top-10 performances in school history across seven different events throughout the weekend.Â

- Steven Jackson (3:54.70) broke his previous school record time for the Men's mile, while earning 13th place overall.Â
- Max McQuide earned a personal-best time of 47.64 in the Men's 400m, which sits him at No. 2 all-time in school history. Colin Kravitz (48.50), now sits at 7th all-time.Â
- Molly Hudson ran to a time of 4:33.16 in the mile, which now puts her at No. 2 all-time in program history.Â
- Anna Sonsini sits at No. 2 all-time in school history after her 7.76 performance in the 60m dash.
- Kylee Bernard (55.33) and Anna Becker (55.61) now sit at No. 5 and No. 7 all-time respectively in the Women's 400m.Â
- Claire Crowley earned a spot into the school's record book as she crossed the line at 2:50.88, which is good for 10th all-time.Â
- The Women's 4x400m relay team of Anna Becker, Ron-Niah Wright, Avana Zenner, and Yaroslava Yalysovetska finished with a time of 3:44.29, which is good for 6th all-time in school history.
- Morgan Champi earned a mark of 15.46 in the Women's Weight throw, which puts her 4th all-time at BC.
- Jay Joyce earned first overall in the Men's 800m with a time of 1:54.76.
- Ryan Beegle (2:28.53) earned first and Larry Mathis (2:29.08) earned second in the Men's 1000m.
- Eero Helenius crossed the line at 8:27.74, earning him first place in the Men's 3000m, while Sam Ellis (8:28.48) placed second and Nick Loffredo (8:29.86) placed third.Â
- Abbi Peterson finished second overall in the Women's High Jump, earning a mark of 1.62m.
