No. 12 Eagles Come Up Short Against No. 7 Western Michigan

Trailing 4-1 going into the third, BC cut the deficit to one but couldn’t overcome the Broncos
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The No. 12/12 Boston College men's hockey team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday evening as they fell to No. 7 Western Michigan by a score of 5-3 on the first day of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off at Fiserv Forum. Aram Minnetian, Ryan Conmy and Dean Letourneau each scored for the Eagles while Michael Hagens finished with three assists. Louka Cloutier made 21 stops.
Training 4-1 going into the third, BC struck twice to make it a one-goal game before an empty netter by the Broncos iced the contest.
Boston College falls to 10-6-1 overall while Western Michigan improves to 11-6-0.
Conmy got the comeback attempt started, scoring just 15 seconds into the third period to put the Eagles back within two. Hagens' initial shot attempt was saved, but Conmy was well positioned at the net front to pick up the rebound and tap it home.
With less than two minutes left to play, Letourneau tallied his 10th goal of the year to make it a one-goal game. Will Moore played it along the boards and found Letourneau behind the net. The sophomore brought the puck around the front and finished top shelf to give BC all the momentum.
Western Michigan opened the scoring early in the contest when William Whitelaw found the back of the net . The Broncos added another two to push their lead to three.
Shortly after the third WMU goal, Minnetian got the Eagles on the board with a shot from the slot that went into the top left corner. Hagens carried the puck into the zone and found Conmy, who immediately found Minnetian for the quick shot to grab a goal for BC.
The Broncos tallied their fourth of the night within the final 90 seconds of the middle frame to push their lead back to three.
