Women's Basketball Begins Homestand With Quinnipiac

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball starts a five-game homestand on Wednesday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Quinnipiac in Conte Forum.

Last Time Out
The Eagles suffered a narrow 82-77 defeat to Murray State on Saturday in the finale of the Daytona Classic. It was a contest that came down to the wire, as neither team led by more than six points down the stretch in the fourth quarter. The Racers broke a 73-73 tie, scoring four straight with 1:13 left in the game,followed by a layup from Lily Carmody on the ensuing possession to close the gap to one score. However, the Racers scored five of the final seven points to close out the win. Four players scored in double figures, led by Teionni McDaniel's 18 points. Athena Tomlinson (12 points), Amirah Anderson (11 points) and Ava McGee (11 points) rounded out the leading scorers.Â

- Waggoner plays for Cyprus for AEL,, where she is averaging 21.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game. She is in the top three in scoring (third), rebounding (third) and steals (second).
What to Watch for
- Watch if the Eagles can get off to a fast start on Wednesday. BC outscored James Madison and Murray State in the first quarter by 23 points (42-19) - its largest margin of any period in the Daytona Classic..
- Watch if Teionni McDaniel can build off her 18-point performance against Murray State. It was the most she has scored since Rider (21 points), while she has scored in double figures in two of the last three games.
- See if BC can limit the Bobcats' 3-point attack, as they are averaging just under nine 3-pointers per game (8.7), and have made an average of 11 3-pointers over the last three contests.
- The trio of LIly Carmody (15.2 ppg), McDaniel (13.8 ppg ) and Athena Tomlinson (11.3 ppg) are averaging a combined 40.3 points in home games (34.8 overall). Watch if they can continue their home success.
