COLORADO SPRING, Colo. – Forwards James Hagens and Teddy Stiga of the Boston College men's hockey team have been named to the preliminary roster for the U.S. National Junior Team ahead of the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Team USA will gather for a training camp in Duluth, Minn. from Dec. 15-23. The final 25-man roster will represent the United States in the World Junior Championship from Dec. 26, 2025 – Jan. 5, 2026 at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota and 3M Arena at Mariucci in Minneapolis.
The duo played on last year's team alongside four other Eagles; Drew Fortescue, Ryan Leonard, Aram Minnetian, and Gabe Perreault – leading the United States to a gold medal.
Stiga scored the game-winning goal in the gold medal game to help the United States to its second consecutive gold medal in the event for the first time in the country's history.
Hagens finished the tournament tied for third in scoring with nine points on five goals and four assists, including scoring USA's first goal in the gold medal game.
Through 14 games this season, Hagens leads the Eagles in points (16) and goals (9). On Friday, Hagens scored his first collegiate hat trick to lead BC to a 5-3 victory over Notre Dame. Stiga has 10 points (3-7-10) through 13 games, and finished with a season-high three points on one goal and two assists in the 7-3 win against Maine.
