CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Wide receiver Lewis Bond, offensive lineman Logan Taylor and safety Omar Thornton were named to the 2025 New England Football Writers Association Division I All-New England Team, the organization announced Sunday.
In 2025, Bond started all 12 games for the Eagles, totaling 88 receptions for 993 yards and a touchdown. The redshirt senior wide receiver surpassed 2,000 career receiving yards vs. Notre Dame (11/1). In addition, Bond became Boston College's all-time receptions record holder and single-season receptions record holder after an eight-catch, 106-yard performance vs. Georgia Tech (11/15), one of five 100-yard receiving games he's had in his career. Bond became the Eagles' first 900-yard receiver since Zay Flowers achieved the feat in 2022, cementing himself as one of eight Boston College receivers to record 900 yards in a single season. The Chicago, Ill. native and 2025 team captain finishes his Boston College career with 2,385 career receiving yards, the fifth-most in school history.
Taylor also started all 12 games for the Eagles in 2025, making eight starts at right guard, three starts at left tackle, and one start at right tackle. A team captain, Taylor helped pace an offense that amassed 400+ yards of total offense on four occasions this season and six games with 100+ total rushing yards. The Lunenburg, Nova Scotia native received an invitation to the 2026 East West Shrine Bowl, and was named to the Preseason Senior Bowl Watch List ahead of this season.
Thornton played in all 12 games for Boston College this season, making 11 starts at safety. The sophomore from Carver Ranches, Fla. totaled 82 tackles, including eight for loss, four forced fumbles, two sacks and one interception. Thornton's 0.33 forced-fumble-per-game average ranks sixth nationally, and second-best in the ACC. After totaling a career-high 11 tackles, including two for loss, along with his first-career sack at Michigan State (9/6), Thornton earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors.
Thirty-five conference and independent all-stars representing 15 Division I football playing schools in New England FBS and FCS have been selected to the 2025 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The team honors the best Division I players by position in New England from the 2025 season.
