
Fencing Prepares for Beanpot and Syd Fadner Invitational

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Fencing will compete in two meets this week. The Eagles travel to Harvard for the 2025 Beanpot on Thursday before returning home to host the first annual Syd Fadner Invitational on Saturday.
​The Beanpot will begin at 3:30 p.m. when the Eagles take on Brandeis. BC takes on MIT and Harvard at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., respectively. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.Â
​The Syd Fadner Invitational begins at 1 p.m. with the Eagles taking on Wheaton, Wellesley, and Temple.
Last Season's Beanpot
The Eagles went a combined 4-2 last year and finished second to Harvard. On the men's side, they defeated Brandeis 15-12 in the first round and MIT 14-13 in the third round. They fell to Harvard 17-10 in the second round. Men's Epee compiled a perfect 3-0 record overall, while sabre and foil both finished 1-2.
​On the women's side, BC defeated Brandeis 19-8 in round 1 and MIT 19-8 in round 3, while falling to Harvard 12-15 in round 2. The Eagles swept all three weapons on the Women's side against Brandeis and MIT, including two 8-1 Women's foil wins. Women's foil finished a perfect 3-0 on the night, while Sabre and Epee both earned 2-1 records.
Last Time Out
BC last competed in the Nikki Franke Classic nearly a month ago. The Eagles put three in the top 10 and eight in the top 20 across all weapons on the women's side. Lydia Johnson was the top finisher as she came in second in the sabre.
​On the men's side, Elijah Onik was the top finisher as he won the foil competition. BC proceeded to put four more in the top 10, as well as three others in the top 20.
