Cloutier Named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week

The freshman posted a 32-save shutout over No. 12 UMass on Saturday

AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Louka Cloutier was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Cloutier started both games for Boston College in its weekend sweep over No. 12 UMass. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native made 13 stops to earn the win on Friday before posting a 32-save performance on Saturday to record his second shutout of the season.

This marks the second-straight weekly award for Cloutier, having been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week last Monday. This is also the second time he's earned the Goaltender of the Week award after getting the recognition on Oct. 13 following the series against Minnesota.

BC hosts Maine this Friday and Saturday. Both contests are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+ as well as on WEEI 850 AM. Friday's game will also be available to watch on NESN.
