Cloutier Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

The freshman stopped 50 of the 51 shots he faced this past weekend against Vermont

AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Louka Cloutier was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

On Friday, Cloutier made 29 saves, including 11 in the third period, to help the Eagles to a 2-1 victory over Vermont for their first league win of the year. The following night, the Sherbrooke, Quebec native recorded his first collegiate shutout with a 20-save performance in the 5-0 win.

This marks the second Hockey East weekly award that Cloutier has received this season, having been named the Goaltender of the Week on October 13.

BC squares off with UMass for a home-and-home series this weekend. The series starts Friday at Kelley Rink before Saturday's tilt at the Mullins Center. Both games will be broadcasted live on ESPN+ as well as on WEEI 850 AM. Friday's game will also be available to watch on NESN.
