
Eagles Fly Across the Country to Face Cal and Stanford

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College (4-6, 0-3 ACC) makes the trip across the U.S. to face California (4-5, 0-3 ACC) and Stanford (4-6, 1-3 ACC) as the Eagles look for their first conference win.
ÂSHOOTING OUR SHOT
- Melea Weber is leading the team in goal scoring with three goals in her first year in the maroon and gold. Weber also leads the team in points with six total.
- Three new faces have netted their first collegiate goals. Caroline Chisholm, Kate Bock and most recently Alex De Cain each have scored for the Eagles.
- Four Eagles have recorded two assists each; Madeline Leigh, Klara Muffelmann, Martina Giacchino and Eva Kluskens have assisted other Eagles in scoring.
- BC scored three goals in the last game against Northeastern, the highest goal count of the season.Â
- The last time the Eagles scored three or more goals was last season against Stanford in a 3-2 victory.
DPC UNIT
- The Defensive Penalty Corner unit has held strong for the Eagles averaging 5.0 DPC a game.
- BC has faced 50 DPCs while only allowing three goals off corners.
- Laila Rosenquest and Martina Giacchino are each averaging second in the ACC in defensive saves (.11 per game) after the UNC game.
A LOOK AT CAL
- This will be the 7th meeting between the Eagles and Golden Bears and only second as conference opponents.
- Boston College leads the series 6-0.
- The Eagles hold a perfect record over Cal.
- In their first ACC match up last season, The Eagles defeated the Golden Bears 4-0 at Newton with returner Madelieve Drion scoring the first goal of the game
- This will be the first time since 2004 that BC will make the cross-country trip to Berkeley.
- Liz Klompmaker is leading the ACC in shots per game averaging (5.56) and is fourth in goals with 10 on the season. She is also in the top three in total points with 21.
A LOOK AT STANFORD
- BC meets Stanford for the 8th time in program history this Sunday.
- Boston College leads the series 7-1.
- This will be the first time since 2007 that BC will make the cross-country trip to Stanford.
- BC has won the past three meetings, the last being in the 2024 ACC tournament.
- Stanford is leading the ACC in saves per game averaging 5.40 with goalkeeper Daisy Ford leading the charge with 4.86 a game.
- Madelieve Drion and Marina Giacchino each tipped in a goal to beat the Cardinal 2-0 last season in Newton.
UP NEXT
The Eagles start their end of season home stretch with Duke on Oct.17 at 6:30 in Newton. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network. BC will conclude their regular season play at home hosting UNH for the annual MS Awareness game on Oct.19 followed by Syracuse and Louisville the next weekend.
