CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –Georgina Clarke scored in Boston College's 3-1 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday evening.
Boston College's record now stands at 4-4-5 overall and 0-3-2 in the ACC, while UNC improves to 8-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
During the first half, both teams engaged in a back-and-forth battle. Boston College managed to take two shots, with one being on target. The Eagles also earned three corner kicks, while UNC did not have any. The Tar Heels fired off six shots, and one found the back of the net 38 minutes into the game, giving UNC a 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Georgina Clarke sparked the BC offense by scoring from a corner kick, tying the game at 1-1. However, after the Eagles' goal, UNC took control of the match, scoring two consecutive goals to secure a 3-1 victory over Boston College.
The Eagles will return home to face N.C. State on Thursday, October 9, at 7:00 PM.
