John West ‘24 Selects Peter Frates ALS Foundation for the Players’ Purpose Grant

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College baseball alum John West '24 was selected Thursday as one of four players to earn the MLBPA Players' Purpose vote. The top four recipients each received a grant to support the charity of their choice. West chose the Peter Frates ALS Foundation to receive a $5,000 grant through the MLB Players Trust.
In 2024, West was named to the inaugural Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team, which recognizes collegiate baseball players for their community service, philanthropy, contributions to their teams, and embodiment of the spirit and character of Gehrig. West was also named the Community Impact Team captain after receiving the most votes among the 10 honorees.
