SOUTH BEND, IND. — Boston College dropped a 78-60 decision at Notre Dame on Monday night in the 45th all-time meeting between the two programs. BC fell to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in ACC play. Donald Hand Jr. - who finished with 17 points and a career-high five three-pointers - was the main source of offense for the Eagles.
There were 11 lead changes in the game, with the teams trading baskets through the first half and early second half. The Eagles struggled to find a spark on offense late in the second half, allowing Notre Dame to surge to a double-digit lead.

- Chad Venning scored the opening basket of the game for the Eagles.
- At the 14:01 mark, Hand buried the team's first three-pointer. BC gained a slim 9-8 lead.
- Trailing midway through the half, BC engineered a 6-0 run and held Notre Dame scoreless for over four minutes. The Eagles regained the lead, 22-18.
- Fred Payne was a deep threat off the bench in the first half, hitting two three-pointers. Payne drained the go-ahead triple with 2:38 remaining, putting the Eagles up 28-25.
- Notre Dame scored eight straight points in the final two minutes. Hand halted the run, beating the halftime buzzer with his third three-pointer of the game.
