BC Begins Play on Sunday at Bryan National Collegiate

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College men's golf team begins play on Sunday at the Bryan National Collegiate, held from Sept. 8-10 at the Bryan Park Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C.

The 11-team field will play one 18-hole round over a span of three days. Sunday and Monday's round will tee off in a shotgun format at 8:30 am, while Monday's final round will be a 9 am shotgun start.

The Champions Course at Bryan Park opened in 1990 and has proven to be a Rees Jones design masterpiece. The golf course layout features 97 sand traps, numerous grass bunkers and hollows, and seven holes bordering scenic Lake Townsend.

The course has elevation changes, forced carries over water, tree-lined Bermuda grass fairways, and expansive holes leading to its MiniVerde Bermuda grass greens. Ranked in 1990 as the runner-up in Golf Digest's Best New Public Courses and hosted the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2010, the course has since been ranked nationally year after year by major golf publications.
