Jackson and Tavella Set for NCAA Championships

Steven Jackson and Emma Tavella are set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships
EUGENE, Ore. – Steven Jackson and Emma Tavella are set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Wednesday (June 5) through Saturday (June 8) in Eugene, Ore. at Hayward Field.
NCAA Outdoor Track and Field ChampionshipsÂ
The top athletes in the country will compete at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after qualifying through competition at first-round sites held May 22-25 in Lexington, Kentucky and Fayetteville, Arkansas. The athletes will first compete in the Semifinal of their events, looking to qualify and move on to the finals on Friday and Saturday.Â
Steven Jackson will be racing in the Men's 1500m semifinal on Wednesday at 7:46 p.m. Eastern Time, while Emma Tavella will compete in the Women's 3,000m Steeplechase semifinal on Thursday at 9:02 p.m. Eastern Time.Â
Jackson is coming off an East First Rounds performance where he finished third overall in his heat and third overall out of 24 runners with his time of 3:38.66. Jackson's time is now the school record, and Jackson also became the first BC male athlete to qualify in the 1500 since the NCAA switched to a regional format.Â
Emma Tavella became the second Eagle to punch their ticket to Oregon after she placed third in heat three and seventh overall in the Women's 1500m Steeplechase with her time of 9:56.38.Â
