Incoming players Teddy Stiga and Will Skahan were drafted 55th and 65th overall
LAS VEGAS – Two incoming Boston College men's hockey players were selected in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft, which wrapped up with Rounds 2-7 on Saturday at the Sphere.
The Nashville Predators picked incoming forward Teddy Stiga with the 55th overall pick. Incoming defenseman Will Skahan was selected later in the round by the Utah Hockey Club with the 65th overall pick.
In 61 games for the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2023-24, Stiga registered 79 points with 36 goals and 43 assists while posting a plus-47 rating. Stiga recently suited for the U.S. at the IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship, scoring six goals with five assists in seven games as Team USA earned silver. In 2022-23, Stiga tallied 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in 49 games for the U.S. Under-17 Team.
Skahan skated in 60 games for the U.S. Under-18 team in 2023-24, tallying 14 points with five goals and nine assists from the blue line. The defenseman appeared in seven games for Team USA at the 2024 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship, finishing with one goal and one assist. The Woodbury, Minn. native also played in 60 games for the U.S. Under-17 Team in 2022-23, registering one goal and 10 assists while once being named the USHL Defenseman of the Week.
Stiga and Skahan join Dean Letourneau, who was drafted 25th overall by the Boston Bruins on Friday, as the program's three draftees in the 2024 NHL Draft.
