DURHAM, N.C.-- Boston College is 30-23 overall, 10-15 against ACC foes earning the ninth seed in this week's ACC Championship. The Eagles entered the final weekend of play tied for ninth with Louisville and Syracuse. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals in two walk offs in game one and two, to claim the series and secure a spot in the ACC tournament. BC faces No. 4 Duke for a spot in Friday's semifinal. Junior catcher Hannah Slike leads the batting order and the offense with a .351 batting average, .585 slugging percentage and holds a .989 fielding percentage. Senior third baseman Nicole Giery is second on the team in hitting a .333 with a team high and single season record 18 doubles to go with 6 home runs. Junior right-hander and All-ACC third team pick Abby Dunning pitched a near perfect game against the Orange. She is 14-13 on the season with a 2.35 earned run average in 173.0 innings pitched. Dunning has 166 strikeouts, which is 10th most in a single season in Boston College history.

This will be the Eagles first appearance in the quarterfinals since 2008, the last time BC landed in the second round the Eagles defeated Florida State to then fall to Maryland.
