
Dolce Earns IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week Honor

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse sophomore goalie Shea Dolce was named the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.Â
It's the second national weekly award this season for the Darien, Conn., native and the fourth overall weekly honor.Â
Dolce stopped nine shots with a .500 save percentage in the 14-9 quarterfinal win over Michigan last Thursday. She made timely stops throughout the game including a save at the end of the first half.Â
Dolce is first in the ACC and sixth in the nation with an 8.60 goals against average and first in the ACC with a .465 save percentage. She was named ACC Goalkeeper of the Year this season, a First-Team All-ACC selection and a consensus All-American.Â
The Eagles aim for a seventh straight trip to the NCAA title game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Syracuse on ESPNU in Cary, N.C.Â
