Martello Named USA Lacrosse/IWLCA Player of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Boston College lacrosse attacker Kayla Martello was named the USA Lacrosse Player of the Week and the IWLCA Player of the Week after her stellar ACC Tournament performance. Â
Martello led the Eagles with 11 goals along with one assist for 12 points. She also registered a .733 shot percentage and an .800 shot on goal percentage.Â
\The New York native highlighted her week with an impressive outing in the ACC championship win over Syracuse on Sunday, scoring a game-high six goals on six shots with one assist for seven points. Martello scored four of her goals in the second half, leading the offense that outscored Syracuse 8-1 in the third and fourth quarters.Â
\Martello is second on the team this season with 51 goals and has seven assists for 58 points. She is fourth on the team with 65 points and is well on her way to setting career highs in both categories. Martello is 10 points away from 200 for her career.Â
The Eagles are 16-3 this season and will await their NCAA Tournament opponent on Sunday, May 5 on Selection Sunday.Â
