Lacrosse Battles Syracuse for ACC Championship

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse aims for a second straight ACC title on Sunday against top-seeded Syracuse at 12 p.m. on ACC Network inside American Legion Memorial Stadium.Â

The Eagles suffocated the top scoring offense with a 9-7 win over Notre Dame. BC caused 12 turnovers and posted 17 ground balls. Sydney Scales registered five caused turnovers and five ground balls in the victory, while Emma LoPinto registered a second-half hat trick to pace the offense. Belle Smith registered three points (2 G, 1 A) with three caused turnovers and Kayla Martello scored twice.Â

The Eagles piled up the awards on Tuesday, as Scales received her first ACC weekly honor of the season after her performance against Syracuse with four caused turnovers and five ground balls. BC saw eight recognized by the ACC, as five made all-first team, two on the all-second team and one landing on the all-freshman squad.Â
