Sailing places second overall at the Women’s New England Fleet Race Championship and the Boston Dingy Cup, while also competing at the NEISA Open Dinghy Championship
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team finished second overall at the Women's New England Fleet Race Championship and the Boston Dingy Cup, while also competing at the NEISA Open Dinghy Championship regatta over the weekend of Apr. 20-21.
Women's New England Fleet Race Championship
Boston College earned second place overall at the Women's New England Fleet Race Championship while compiling 100 points over the course of the two-day regatta. The Championship Regatta was hosted by Bowdoin, and it took place Apr. 20-21 with the Eagles going up against Brown, Dartmouth, Roger Williams, Harvard, U.S. Coast Guard, Yale, Bowdoin, Northeastern, MIT, Tufts, BU, Rhode Island, Vermont, McGill, and Connecticut College.
The Eagles had the A division team and the B division team that both competed to help the Eagles earn second place at the regatta. The Eagles totaled 100 points which was good for second place, just behind Brown who had 76 points. Dartmouth (102), Roger Williams (123), and Harvard (124) rounded out the top-five team finishes.
The A division team was led by Caroline Sibilly and Katelyn McGauley. The duo earned five first place finishes over the course of the 10 races, while also placing second in race four. Sibilly and McGauley compiled 46 total points for the Eagles, which was good for second overall out of all the A division teams.
The B division team of Michaela O'Brien and Sara Schumann totaled 54 points for the Eagles, which was good for third out of all the teams in the B division. The duo finished top-10 in nine of the ten races, including five top-five finishes.

Boston Dingy Cup
The Eagles finished second overall at the Boston Dingy Cup with 124 points over the regatta. The meet was hosted by Harvard on April 19-20, and the Eagles were joined by Roger Williams, Brown, Georgetown, Harvard, Tufts, MIT, Miami, Yale, Cornell, Rhode Island, U.S. Coast Guard, NC State, Fordham, Bowdoin, and Wisconsin. Boston College had three division teams race over the weekend looking to help the Eagles earn the victory at the regatta.
Boston College's A division team compiled 46 points over eight races. The A division team of Colleen O'Brien, Libby Redmond, and Matt Budington had top-10 finishes in nine of the 10 races, including five second place finishes.
Boston College's B division team helped compile 47 points over eight races, finishing the regatta with a top-10 placement in all 10 races. The B division team of Peter Busch and Lourdes Gallo earned a first place finish in race three, while also placing top-three in five of the 10 races.
Boston College's C division team compiled 31 points for the Eagles total score. The C division team of Jack Redmond and Kennedy Laureigh had nine top-five finishes, including three first place finishes.
Overall, Boston College earned second overall with 124 total points, while Roger Williams won the regatta with 118 points. Brown (185), Georgetown (205), and Harvard (117) rounded out the top-five of the regatta.

NEISA Open Dinghy Championship
Boston College finished 10th overall at the NEISA Open Dinghy Championship with a total of 179 points over the course of the two-day regatta. The meet was hosted by Brown, and it took place Apr. 20-21 with the Eagles going up against Harvard, Brown, Yale, Tufts, Roger Williams, Bowdoin, Rhode Island, Dartmouth, MIT, Northeastern, U.S. Coast Guard, Vermont, BU, Salve Regina, Connecticut College, Olin College, and Maine Maritime.
Boston College's A division team compiled 88 points over nine races. The A division team of Michael Kirkman and Lily Ornstein had five top-10 finishes throughout the nine races, including a fourth place finish in race two.
Boston College's B division team helped compile 91 points over the weekend, finishing the regatta with a top-10 placement in five races. The B division team of Peter Joslin and Emily Marlas earned a third place finish in the final race of the regatta.
Overall, Boston College earned second overall with 179 total points, while Harvard won the regatta with 45 points. Brown (50), Yale (97), Tufts (124) and Roger Williams (131) rounded out the top-five team finishes.
