Boston College finishes 10th overall with a 6-9 record over the three-day regatta
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team finished 10th overall at the ICSA Open Team National Championship over the weekend of Apr. 25-27 in Cambridge, Mass. Â
ICSA Open Team National Championship
Boston College placed 10th overall at the ICSA Open Team National Championship with a 6-9 record over the course of the three-day regatta. The National Championship Regatta was hosted by Harvard and MIT, and it took place Apr. 25-27 with the Eagles going up against the top teams in the country.Â
Day one
The Eagles started the National Championship Regatta on Thursday with a 1-3 record over four races. Boston College earned a victory over Brown with a 1-2-5 finish, while falling to Yale, Harvard, and Stanford.Â
Day two
The Eagles headed into day two sitting at 13th place overall. Boston College finished the round of 16 with the final 11 races on Friday. The Eagles went 5-6 on day two, earning victories over Navy, MIT, St. Mary's, Tulane, and Wisconsin. Boston College finished the round of 16 in 10th place with a combined record of 6-9, ultimately failing to qualify for the round of 8 on Saturday.Â
Roger Williams won the Open National Championship with a 18-4 record, while Harvard, Yale, Brown, and Stanford rounded out the top-five.Â
Boston College was led by Skippers Colleen O'Brien, Peter Joslin, Jack Redmond, and Peter Busch, who were joined by a Crew of Libby Redmond, Matt Budington, Michaela O'Brien, and Sara Schumann.
