Series Opener Goes to No. 14 Wake Forest

BRIGHTON, Mass. — Boston College Baseball (18-15, 6-10) dropped game one of their weekend series to No. 14 Wake Forest (22-10, 8-8), falling 13-1 in eight innings on Friday night.
Michael Farinelli (New York, N.Y.) started for the Eagles, turned in 5.1 innings with two strikeouts, and was tagged with the loss (0-3). The Eagles got on the board in the fifth inning, with Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) driving in Connor Dreyer (Chatham, N.J.), who made his first start of the season at DH. Travis Lane (Georgetown, Mass.) turned in his fourth straight scoreless relief outing, punching out all three batters he faced in the seventh. Lane has now struck out the last six batters he has faced in relief. Chase Burns earned the win (7-1) for Wake Forest.Â
The Eagles will turn around for game two against the Demon Deacons on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
