Strong Pitching Lifts Eagles Over Dartmouth 7-1

BRIGHTON, Mass. — Boston College Baseball (18-14, 6-9) took down Darmouth (7-16, 2-7), 7-1 on Tuesday night.
The Eagles struck for two in the first and two in the second, adding another two in the fourth before the sides exchanged runs in the eighth. Bobby Chicoine (Armonk, N.J.) got his second start of the Eagles and turned in another scoreless inning to open, striking out two. Brad Lombardi (East Greenwich, R.I.) set down Dartmouth in order in the fourth and fifth, tossing two perfect innings and earning the win (1-0). Charlie Coon (Duxbury, Mass.) turned in another two scoreless innings, striking out three.
Kyle Wolff (Andover, Mass.) opened the scoring in the first, driving in two on a single to beat the infield shift. Wolff finished 3-for-4 with three RBI, logging his team-leading 11th double of the season, and reaching a team-high 37 RBI on the season.
Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.) added RBI singles in the second and eighth. Leary finished 2-for-4 with a walk (41) and stolen base (18), leading the Eagles in both categories.
John Collins (New York, N.Y.) roped an RBI triple to center field in the fourth inning. Adam Magpoc (Torrance, Ca.) and Sam McNulty (Cambridge, Mass.) both tallied extra-base hits as well. Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
The Eagles will continue their homestand this weekend, hosting Wake Forest beginning on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
