March 26, 2024 | Softball
HANOVER, N.H.-- The Boston College Softball team held Dartmouth to just two runs throughout seven innings as BC defeated the Big Green on the road, 5-2, to improve to 21-9 on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Halie Pappion got the momentum started in the pitching circle for the Eagles striking out three batters in three innings of work. Addison Jackson entered the circle in the fourth as relief finishing off the game, allowing just four hits.Â
The scoring started on an RBI double from Hannah Slike to put BC on the board, 1-0. The Big Green responded in the bottom of the first adding one run. The Eagles broke the locked score in the second off of a Maycee Hilt fly out advancing Elisabeth Laviolette through home plate. The Eagles continued in the third on a two-run homer by Nicole Giery, extending the lead 4-1. Giery kept the bat swinging in the top of the seventh adding on another RBI. Dartmouth responded in the bottom of the seventh with a one-run homer, but it was not enough to match the Eagles.
Giery had a season high 3 RBI game, on four hits, including her second homerun of the season.
The Eagles return to action Thursday in Clemson, S.C., where the Eagles will face-off No.11 Clemson at 6:00 p.m.
