Eagles Drop Series Opener to No.16 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C.-- The Boston College softball program fell to No. 16 Clemson, 10-2, in the series opener Thursday night at the McWhorter Stadium.Â
Three of the Eagles pitching staff were in the circle against the Tigers. Abby Dunning pitched through 1.1 innings, Halie Pappion pitched .1 innings, and Addison Jackson closed out the game pitching 2.1 innings.Â
Jordan Stephens and Gator Robinson were the sole scorers in the contest for Boston, with a RBI triple bringing Kaitlyn Deguire through home plate in the fourth. Robinson continued the momentum for the Eagles in the fifth with bases loaded, an RBI single brought Emma Jackson home.
The Tigers would get on the board in the opening frame, plating one on a passed ball.
Clemson would push across another in the bottom of the second, adding on six runs. That margin would increase throughout the next two innings adding on three more runs.Â
The Eagles return to action tomorrow to face-off No.16 Clemson at 6:00 p.m. at the McWhorter Stadium.
