GREENSBORO, N.C. - Boston College women's lacrosse goalie Shea Dolce  was named the ACC and IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.Â
It's the first weekly award of the season for Dolce and the second of the season for the Eagles. It's also the second IWLCA weekly honor and the third ACC award for the sophomore.Â
Dolce played a pivotal role in the Eagles' 18-3 win over Duke last Saturday, limiting the Blue Devils to a season low in goals scored. The Darien, Conn. native made a season-high 11 saves and a career-best .786 save percentage when facing at least 20 shot attempts. It was the fourth time in Dolce's career she's made double-digit stops, while she is first in the ACC and fifth in the nation with a 7.91 goals against  average. Her .460 save percentage is third in the country and 35th in the nation.Â
Dolce is nine saves away from 200 for her career heading into Saturday's ACC championship rematch against No. 13 North Carolina. First draw is set for 12 p.m. inside Alumni Stadium on ESPNU.Â
