Boston College Drops Game Three to No. 19 Virginia Tech

Eagles will travel to UConn for midweek game this Tuesday at 3 p.m.
With the Eagles down 3-0 in the fourth, Vince Cimini (Scranton, Pa.) brought in one on a sacrifice fly, and Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) cut the deficit to one with an RBI single. Boston College loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth, with Chris Markovich (Lebanon, N.J.) scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game 3-3.
The Hokies strung together seven runs in the seventh, and another two in the eighth to take a 12-3 lead. Nick Wang (Newton, Mass.) brought in Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) on a sacrifice fly, making it 12-4 after eight.
In the final frame, Beck Milner (Park City, Ut.) launched his first home run as an Eagle off the batters eye in center, and Austin Hartsell (Bridgewater, Mass.) hit his first collegiate home run in the next at-bat, with Virginia Tech ending it at 12-6.
Michael Farinelli (New York, N.Y.) started for the Eagles and went 3.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits. Evan Moore (Rocky Hill, Ct.)Â followed with a strong appearance, striking out two over two shutout innings. Eric Schroeder (Ridgewood, N.J.), was charged with the loss (1-1). Brady Kirtner (3-0) earned the win for the Hokies.
