Dunning leads Eagles to 3-0 Victory Over Iona

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- Boston College defeated Iona with a 3-0 victory at Harrington Athletics Village, Saturday afternoon. Pitcher Abby Dunning headlined the Eagles with her second no-hitter on her career.Â
BC got on the board early in the first after an Emma Jackson single, she moved to second on a passed ball. A Hannah Slike single brought Jackson through home plate. The momentum continued in the second inning with bases loaded, a Jackson single brought Elisabeth Laviolette around the bases. The Eagles added another run in the bottom of the inning after Slike walked to first Jordan Stephens walked through home plate.
Pitcher Abby Dunning held Iona scoreless through seven innings, leading the afternoon with seven strikeouts reaching her 300th career strikeouts.Â
The Eagles return to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. facing off Iona at the Harrington Athletics Village.Â
