Boston College Cruises Past Stonehill in Home Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Eagles rolled to a 8-0 victory over Stonehill College on Tuesday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village in BC's home opener.Â
The Eagles made quick work of the Skyhawks closing the game 8-0 in five innings. The Eagles move to 13-8 on the season while Stonehill falls to 3-8. BC defeated Stonehill in the two programs first ever meeting Tuesday afternoon.Â
BC got on the board first with a two-run home run off the bat of Hannah Slike to drive in Emma Jackson for the 2-0 lead. The Eagles continued the momentum throughout each inning. Boston College exploded for three runs in the third as Maycee Hilt drove in two runs with a home run and Emma Jackson singled to left field to bring in Kali Case after a season first triple in the three-run third.Â
The Skyhawks were unable to respond throughout five innings with the Eagles adding one run each in the fourth and fifth inning.Â
Emma Jackson and Kali Case both added two hits and two runs as BC finished the afternoon tying the season high 10 hits.
Boston College returns to action at home Friday for the Eagle Round Robin where the Eagles will face Holy Cross at 5 p.m.
