ACC/DC: BC takes on Familar Foe Miami in ACC Tourney Opener

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. MIAMI - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's game marks the 59th meeting between the two schools. The all-time series between the Eagles and Hurricanes is tied, 29-29.
- BC captured both meetings in the 2023-24 regular season.
- On Feb. 17, BC won the first contest, 85-77 at Conte Forum. On March 6 in Coral Gables, the Eagles came away with a 67-57 win.
- BC is 1-2 all-time vs. Miami in ACC Tournament play. The last time the two teams met in the ACC Tournament, Miami escaped with a buzzer beater, 71-69, in overtime on March 10, 2022.
- From 1989-2004, both schools were members of the Big East. BC compiled a 15-6 mark versus Miami during that span.
BOSTON COLLEGE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
- In 31 games in ACC Tournament play, Boston College is 13-18.
- Last season, BC advanced to the second round in Greensboro.
- BC earned an 80-62 win over Louisville before falling to UNC. In 2023, the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals in Brooklyn.
- The Eagles earned a 66-46 win over Pitt in the first round before an 82-77 overtime win over Wake Forest in the second round.
- BC lost on an OT buzzer beater versus Miami, 71-69 in the quarters.
- BC also advanced to the 2018 ACC quarterfinals in Brooklyn.Â
- In 2006, BC advanced to the ACC title game in Greensboro.
- That season - the school's first-ever ACC Tourney - BC downed Maryland (80-66) and North Carolina (85-82) before falling in the championship game to Duke (78-76).

POST NAMED TO ALL-ACC SECOND & ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAMSÂ
- Quinten Post earned a pair of ACC postseason honors, named to the All-ACC Second and All-Defensive teams
- The elite 7-footer is one of two players to rank among the top 10 in the ACC in scoring (16.6), rebounding (7.9), blocks (1.8), and FG percentage(.515)Â this season.
- He is the only major conference player in the nation averaging 16.6 points, 7.9 boards, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game.
- The last ACC player to average that season stat line: Wake Forest's Tim Duncan in 1996-97.
- Defensively, Post has established himself as one of the top rim protectors in the country. Â
- He ranks second in the ACC - and 46th nationally - averaging 1.8 blocked shots per game. Â
- Post's 54 total blocks are second-most in the ACC and ranks as the seventh-highest single season total in BC history. His block percentage - calculated as total blocks/opponent FGA - of 6.3% ranks 105th in the country.Â
- This marks the second consecutive year that Post has been honored by the ACC. Â
- Last year, he was named the ACC's Most Improved Player while also earning honorable mention all-league accolades.Â
- Post is the first Boston College player to earn All-ACC Second Team honors since Ky Bowman in 2018-19. Â
- He also becomes the third Eagle to be recognized as part of the All-ACC Defensive team, joining Tyrelle Blair in 2007-08 and Steffon Mitchell in 2019-20.

McGLOCKTONÂ UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPROVED IN ACC
- Devin McGlockton earned three votes for the ACC's Most Improved Player award, with major jumps in several stat categories.
- Through 31 games, McGlockton is fourth on the Eagles in scoring (10.4) and second in rebounding (6.1) and blocks (0.9).
- McGlockton's per game averages have increased across the board: scoring +4.3, rebounding +2.2, and blocked shots +0.3.
- In ACC play (20 games), McGlockton is averaging 11.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 32 minutes per game.
- Year-over-year, he has almost tripled his scoring (+6.3) and more than doubled his rebounding (+3.0) in ACC games.
- In ACC games, McGlockton connected on nearly 60% of his shot attempts from the floor (96-162); up from .500 a year ago.
- The 6-7 forward ranks 53rd nationally in effective FG% (.617) and 74th nationally in true shooting percentage (.631).
- He has two double-doubles and has set new career-highs in scoring (30), rebounding (14), and blocks (3) this year.
ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE HELPERS
- As a playmaker, Jaeden Zackery ranks among the top players nationally in three different categories.
- He is 89th nationally in assist/turnover ratio (2.25:1), 95th in total assists (133), and 107th in assists per game (4.3).
- Earlier this month, Zackery became the 14th different Eagle since 1996-97 to reach the 100 assist mark in a season.
- Zackery's 133 assists are the most by a BC player since Ky Bowman (165) during the 2017-18 campaign.
- Jaeden Zackery is one of five different Boston College players to tally at least 133 assists and 57 steals in a single season.
- The others: Michael Adams (1982-83, 1984-85), Troy Bell (2000-01), Howard Eisley (1991-92), Duane Woodward (1997-98).
MASON MADSEN, FOR STARTERS
- Since entering the starting five on Feb. 10, Mason Madsen is averaging 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
- The 6-4 guard has made a team-best 26 3-pointers over that nine-game span - including 4+ on four occasions.
- In the last meeting vs. Miami, Madsen made three of his four treys in the second half, sealing BC's win in Coral Gables.
- On Feb. 24 at N.C. State, Madsen scored 21 points (8-11 FG; 4-7 3FG) to go with seven boards and two assists.
- Madsen drilled a career-high seven 3-pointers en route to a career-high 25 points in a win over Miami on Feb. 17.
- At Florida State, he scored 14 points (4-8 3FG), while tallying 11 points, four rebounds, four assists vs. Louisville.
- In his first start of the seven-game string, Madsen had a team-high 15 points (6-11 FG) at Duke on Feb. 10.
- In 10 total games as a starter this year, he is averaging 13.1 points per game and has made 28 treys at a 40.0% clip.
- In the 21 games he came off the bench, Madsen averaged 6.1 points per game in nearly 17 minutes per outing.
ROAD-TESTED
- Boston College began the season 3-0 in true road games, earning wins at The Citadel, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech.
- It marked the first time since the 2004-05 campaign that BC has won its first three road games to start the year.
