
Nine Eagles Land on ILWomen Preseason All-American List

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse continued to bring in more preseason awards as nine were named to the ILWomen.com Preseason All-American list.Â
Nine were named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Team, while six were named to Preseason All-ACC earlier this week.Â
Belle Smith | Midfielder | Senior | First Team
The two-way middie is coming off a stellar campaign in 2023. The ACC's Midfielder of the Year was a consensus first-team all-american last season after finishing third on the team with 52 goals and second with a career-high 31 assists. She ended with 83 points, which was third on the squad, and recorded a personal-high 33 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 28 draw controls. She was the only player in the nation with at least 50 goals, 30 assists, 30 ground balls, 25 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Smith was picked as the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Midfielder of the Year and to the Preseason All-ACC Team.Â
Cassidy Weeks | Midfielder | Graduate Student | Second Team
Weeks was a consensus second-team All-American, finishing fourth on the team with a career-high 33 goals and nine assists for a personal-best 42 points. Her 37 draw controls was good for third on BC. She also made the ACC All-Tournament Team.Â
Sydney Scales | Defense | Senior | Second Team
The ACC Defender of the Year last season, Scales helped anchor one of the top defenses in the country. She was a first-team All-American after being named ACC All-First Team and to the ACC All-Tournament team. She was first on the team with a career-high 37 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls. She was the only player in the ACC with at least 40 ground balls and 35 caused turnovers.Â
Mckenna Davis | Attack | Junior | Third Team
Davis was a consensus second-team All-American following a career season in 2023.  She was ACC All-First Team, leading the Eagles and the conference with 62 assists. Her career-high 88 points was second on the team, fifth in the league and 19th in the nation. She increased her scoring total by 57 points, which was one of the top-10 scoring jumps from 2022.Â
Shea Dolce | Goalkeeper | Freshman | Third Team
Dolce was the first freshman goalie since 2016 to start between the cages, posting a 15-3 mark with 128 saves. She was named an All-American Honorable Mention member and ACC Freshman of the Year. After helping BC to the ACC Title, she was named the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player. Dolce led all freshmen in the nation with an 8.84 goals-against average, while she was second in the ACC and 10th in the nation. Her .457 save percentage also led all freshmen in the country, was fourth in the league and 29th overall.
Becky Browndorf | Defense | Graduate Student | Third TeamÂ
The incoming Eagle was a third-team Inside Lacrosse/ILWomen.com All-American following a team and career-high 22 caused turnovers and a personal-best 21 ground balls. She helped Florida's defense rank first in the AAC and 10th nationally in goals allowed per game (9.45). She was named All-AAC Second Team and to the AAC All-Tournament Team following a conference title. Browndorf is in her first season with BC after spending four with the Gators.Â
Emma LoPinto | Attack | Junior | Third Team
LoPinto is a second-team honoree after finishing 14th in the nation in points (90) and 17th with 62 goals in her final year at Florida. She was named to the 2023 All-AAC First Team and a IWLCA Second Team All-American. The incoming Eagle helped Florida win the AAC Championship and was a Tewaaraton Top-25 nominee. She too is in her first season with the Eagles after spending two seasons with the Gators.Â
Kayla Martello | Attack | Senior | Honorable Mention
Martello finished second on the team with a career-high 61 goals, while her seven assists assists led to a personal-best 68 points. She was fifth in the ACC and 20th in the nation in goals last season, scoring a goal in all 23 games and extended her streak of scoring a goal in 27 straight games dating back to 2021. Martello is approaching top-15 status in school history in goals scored.Â
Rachel Clark | Attack | Junior | Honorable Mention
Clark made the second-team list after she led Virginia with 63 goals and a personal-high 76 points. She tied for third in the ACC in goals and eighth in points. Clark was a first-team all-acc selection and named All-American Honorable Mention by ILWomen and was a USA Lacrosse Magazine First-Team honoree. She is in her first season with BC after spending two seasons with the Cavaliers.Â
The Eagles open the season on Friday, Feb. 9th against UMass at 4 p.m. in Fish Field House.Â
