- Tonight's game marks the second all-time meeting between the two schools and the first in 16 seasons.Â
- In the lone previous matchup, BC defeated Loyola (Md.) at home, 90-57, on Nov. 17, 2008.Â

McFARLANE RANKS AMONG ACTIVE LEADERS IN DOUBLE-DOUBLES
- Roger McFarlane's first double-double of the season came against VCU and was the 17th of his career.
- Among all active players, McFarlane ranks 33rd nationally in double-doubles - and is tied for fourth among all guards.
CHARITABLE VENTURES
- Donald Hand Jr. ranks nationally in free throws made (23; 32nd), attempted (25; 88th), and percentage (.920; 79th).
- Hand made 19-of-20 from the line through the first two games of the season, including 11-for-11 vs. The Citadel.
- The last BC player to connect on at least 23 of 25 free throws over a three-game span was Olivier Hanlan in 2014-15.
- Hanlan went 25-for-26 over a three game stretch, including a perfect 14-for-14 from the line at Pitt on Feb. 24, 2015.
STRONG EFFORT AGAINST TEMPLE
- Elijah Strong registered his first collegiate double-double with career-highs in points (25) and rebounds (13) against Temple.
- Strong made his first five field goal attempts, finishing 11-of-19 on the night. The 11 field goals were also a career-high.Â
- The sophomore grabbed 13 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass and nine on the defensive end.
- Both the scoring and rebounding totals for Strong rank as season-highs for a Boston College player in 2024-25.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR DONALD ON OPENING NIGHT
- Donald Hand Jr. logged his first career double-double - 22 points and 10 rebounds - in the opener vs. The Citadel.
- Both totals are new career-highs for the sophomore guard, who led all scorers and rebounders in the game.
- Hand connected on 11-for-11 from the free throw line; the first Eagle to make at least 11 FT without a miss since Quinten Post - now with the Golden State Warriors - knocked down 11-of-11 vs. Virginia on Feb. 25, 2024.
- It marked the 22nd time since 1996-97 where a BC player was perfect from the charity stripe with at least 10 attempts.
- Since 1996-97, 97 Boston College players have logged a double-double while scoring at least 20 points.
- It marks the first time a BC player logged his first career double-double while scoring at least 20 since Nov. 30, 2022.
EARLY RETURNS
- Donald Hand Jr. ranks fourth in the ACC in scoring through the first week of the regular season.
- The sophomore is averaging 18.7 points per game through three outings for the Eagles in 2024-25.
- Hand also leads the ACC in free throws made (23) and is fifth in FT percentage, at .920.
- Roger McFarlane is 10th in the ACC in rebounding at 8.3 boards per game, while Hand is tied for 12th (8.0 rpg).
- At 2.0 blocked shots per game, Chad Venning is tied for second in the ACC, while Jayden Hastings (1.67) is tied for eighth
- Chas Kelley III's assist/turnover ratio of 3.33 (10:3) ranks 11th in the league.
THE 60 POINT MARK
- Boston College held The Citadel to 60 points in the season opener on Nov. 4.
- BC has captured its last 15 games, including its last six non-conference matchups, when holding opponents to 60 or fewer.
- Under Earl Grant, the Eagles are is 20-2 when keeping their opponents at 60 or less on the scoreboard.
BROOKLYN'S FINEST
- Chad Venning is a graduate transfer from St. Bonaventure, playing his final season of college basketball at BC.
- The 6-9 post presence was a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 pick in 2023-24, after leading the Bonnies in scoring and blocks.
- Venning averaged nearly 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, helping guide the Bonnies to a 20-12 record. Â
- His 8.5 block percentage mark ranked 38th nationally according to KenPom.com last year.
- Venning logged two double-doubles and reached double-digits in scoring 25 times, including five games with 20-plus points. Â
- He averaged nearly 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as a junior; in 65 total games with SBU, earned 62 starts Â
- Venning began his college career at Morgan State, seeing action in 42 games over two seasons from 2020-22.
POSSESSION IS THE BETTER PART OF VALOR
- Boston College's 1.35:1 assist/turnover ratio in 2023-24 ranked as the third-best mark in program history.
- BC's assist/turnover ratio ranked 70th nationally - and eighth in the ACC - having compiled 509 assists to 376 turnovers.
- The 2010-11 team holds the Boston College record for best assist/turnover mark, at 1.38:1 (517:376).
