Eagles set to face top competition at ACC Championships on Friday
CARY, N.C. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are set to compete at the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships on Friday morning in Cary, N.C. at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The Men's 8k will kick things off at 9:40 a.m., followed by the Women's 6k at 10:30 a.m. The meet will be available to watch and stream nationally on ACC Network.
The championship meet features a total of 13 teams ranked in the USTFCCCA week 4 national poll. The Women's side showcases four teams that are ranked in the top-20, highlighted by No. 5 Notre Dame. The Men's field will feature six teams in the top-20, including No. 5 Standord and No. 7 Wake Forest.Â
Following the conclusion of the meet, the top 21 finishers from each race will receive All-ACC honors. The top true freshman in both races will be recognized as the ACC Freshman of the Year.Â
The field for the Eagles will feature 18 total athletes. Of the 10 athletes competing on the Women's side, eight are upperclassmen. The Men's team features eight athletes, which consists of six upperclassmen and two underclassmen.Â

Look back at the 2024 season
On the Women's side, the Eagles competed at two races over the span of the 2024 regular season. The Eagles first competed at the Nuttycombe Invitational, placing 14th overall. Molly FitzPatrick had the top finish of the day for BC, earning first place in the Women's 6k "B" race. BC wrapped up the regular season by competing at the Wisconsin Pre-National meet on Oct. 19 in Madison, Wisc. The Eagles ultimately placed 20th overall, with Roshni Singh finishing 83rd overall with a time of 20:30.9.Â
The Boston College Women's Cross Country team currently sits at No. 30 in the USTFCCCA week 4 national poll, and No. 3 in the Northeast regional rankings.Â
The Men's team also competed in two meets throughout the season. The Eagles finished 12th overall at the Paul Short Run to open the season, and then wrapped up the season placing 11th overall at the Princeton Fall Classic. Steven Jackson and Theodor Schucht led the way for the Eagles all season, crossing the finish line first and second for BC in each race. Jackson completed the 8k course at the Princeton Fall Classic with a season-best time of 23:39.9, while Schucht also earned his season-best time of 23:44.3 at the Princeton Fall classic.Â
The Boston College Men's team currently sits at No. 10 in the USTFCCCA week 4 northeast regional rankings. This ranking marks the first time the Men's team has reached the top-10 in the regional poll since 2012.Â
