
BC Hosts Virginia Tech and UVA This Weekend

Eagles face VT Friday at 1 PM and UVA Sunday at 1 PM
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Boston College volleyball team (8-12, 1-7 ACC) continues ACC play at home against Virginia Tech (7-11, 1-7 ACC) Friday Oct. 25 at 1:00 p.m.and UVA (15-4, 5-3 ACC) on Sunday Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m.
The Eagles search for its first ACC victory at home after losses to No. 19 Florida State and Miami this past weekend.Â
Halle Schroder led the way for the Eagles finishing the weekend with 25 kills adding 20 digs. Sam Hoppes led the team with a .300 hitting percentage on 11 kills. The setter duo of Sophia Lambros and Aubrey Moore guided the offense, Moore led the pair with 37 assists. The defense was led by Brooklyn Yelland adding 29 digs, averaging 3.63 digs per set. In the front row Julia Haggerty led the defense with 13 blocks. In the Friday match-up against FSU Haggerty notched her 462 career block setting a new all-time program record. breaking 2021 grad Amaka Chukwujekwu's previous record of 461.Â
The Eagles meet Virginia Tech at home Friday afternoon. In the last meeting of the two programs in 2023, BC defeated the Hokies in three sets. The Eagles were led by Schroder adding 12 kills and seven digs. Cornelia Roach led BC with a .556 hitting percentage on six kills, and a match high six blocks. The Eagles search for its 13th all-time victory against the Hokies Friday afternoon.Â
On Sunday, BC meets the University of Virginia for the 29th all-time meeting, last facing the Cavaliers on the road last season. The Eagles defeated UVA in four sets by scores of, 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-19. Schroder led the offense with 12 kills, adding on 10 digs, and three aces. Haggerty added a match-high six blocks including one solo. The Eagles added nine aces in the match with Lambros leading the night with four. Â
The Eagles continue ACC play on the road next week to meet Wake Forest (Nov. 1, 7:00 p.m.) and NC State (Nov. 3, 12:00 p.m.).
