Fourth Place Finish For Eagles at UConn Invitational

Two shots separated 2-4 on the team leaderboard; Jack Pogorelc tied for 11th
HAMPDEN, Mass. -- Boston College placed fourth at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse. Â The Eagles were one shot behind third place St. John's and two behind host Connecticut in a tightly-bunched team leaderboard. Â BC finished with a team total score of 881 (293-291-297).
Leading the way for BC was Jack Pogorelc, who tied for 11th place with a total score of 220 (76-73-71). Â Pogorelc improved his score in each of the three rounds, paced by a final round 71 (-1) on Tuesday.
Christian Emmerich was one stroke behind Pogorelc, tying for 15th place. Â Emmerich also got better as the tournament went on, posting consecutive scores of 74 on Sunday and Monday before Tuesday's final round 73.
Brian Xu tied for 20th place. Â He fired the Eagles' best round of the tournament - a second round 69 on Monday. Â He finished with a total score of 223. Â Ben Hong was one stroke off of Xu, tying for 24th place with a score of 224 (74-75-75), while Markus Lam tied for 32nd (70-78-78=226). Â Individually, Will Musson placed 42nd with a score of 229 (76-77-76).
As a team, BC was second-best among the field in par 3 scoring (3.12 avg; +7 overall) and par 5 scoring (4.95 avg; -3). Â The Eagles recorded 174 pars and 34 birdies.
BC closes out its 2024 fall schedule on Oct. 21-22 at the Nassau Intercollegiate, held at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y.
