
Women's Basketball Falls to No. 18/19 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Boston College women's basketball fell to No. 18/19 Notre Dame,98-48 , on Thursday evening in Purcell Pavilion.Â
The Eagles fall to 9-8 and 1-3 in the ACC, while ND is 11-3 and 2-1 in league action.
Dontavia Waggoner led the team in scoring with 12 points with six boards and four steals. Teya Sidberry scored nine, and Nene Ndiaye tallied a personal-high nine points off the bench. Kaylah Ivey and Lili Krasovec led the team with three assists.Â
BC responded in the first quarter after facing an early 8-2 deficit. Sidberry scored five straight points followed by an Ndiaye layup to cap off a 7-0 surge that gave BC a 9-8 lead. Notre Dame scored six of the next eight to go into the second with a 14-11 lead.Â
Notre Dame took control in the second frame, shooting 58.3 percent from the field. BC stayed within one possession early in the second quarter thanks to an Ndiaye jumper, but the hosts put together an 11-0 run to push their lead into double digits. ND went into the half with a 39-19 lead.Â
The Fighting Irish stayed in front the rest of the way for the win, controlling the glass (plus-25) and shot over 55 percent from the floor.Â
BC won the turnover battle (15-19) but scored just 12 points off turnovers.Â
BC returns to action against Pitt on Sunday at 12 p.m. inside Conte Forum on the ACC Network.Â
