Boston College fell to No. 15 Duke on Sunday, 2-0. The Blue Devils scored both of their goals in the first 30 minutes of the contest, with Carina Lageyre finding the back of the net twice. BC held Duke scoreless for the rest of the match, as Wiebke Willebrandt, who wore the No. 19 jersey in honor of Welles Crowther, stopped the last six shot attempts by Duke.  BC attempted three shots on goal with Emily Sapienza firing off an attempt in the first period. Aislin Streicek led the team with two shots on goal, while both came in the second half.Â
A Win Would on Thursday
• Give BC a 4-4-2 mark on the season.
• Give the Eagles their first ACC victory of 2023

ABOUT HEAD COACH JASON LOWE
• Now in his fifth season as the helm of the Eagles, Jason Lowe was named the program's fifth head coach on Jan. 9, 2019.
• Lowe arrived on the Heights after serving on the coaching staff at Wake Forest since 2014, including 2017 and 2018 as associate head coach.
• The Shaker Heights, Ohio native helped the Demon Deacons reach the NCAA tournament Round of 32 in 2017 and the Sweet 16 in 2018.
• Prior to Wake Forest, Lowe served as an assistant coach at Alabama for five seasons and two years at Emory.
• Lowe served as a goalkeeper for the Wake Forest men's soccer team from 1994-97.
• In addition to receiving his bachelor's degree from Wake Forest in 1998, Lowe also earned his MBA in 2002.
MEET THE CAPTAIN
• The Eagles are captained this season by graduate student Claire Mensi.
• Mensi played in 16 of 18 contests in 2022 while making seven starts ... the Katonah, N.Y. native scored two goals, including a game-winning goal.
• Prior to arriving on the Heights, Mensi played four seasons at Bucknell University where she was a two-year captain and helped lead the Bison to the 2021 Patriot League championship along with an NCAA Tournament berth.
• In addition to Mensi, Laura Gouvin, Emily Sapienza, Sonia Walk and Wiebke Willebrandt are a part of the team's Leadership Council.
NEW FACES
• The 2023 Boston College women's soccer roster features 11 players who were not on the 2022 roster, including nine freshmen.
• The Eagles have welcomed two transfers in Caroline Walbridge from Maryland and Aislin Streicek from Alabama.• Additionally, the Eagles have welcomed a new assistant coach in Stephanie Demake.
WIEBKE CLIMBING THE LADDER
• Wiebke Willebrandt's 190 saves puts her in fifth all-time in school history after stopping a season-high seven shots against the Blue Devils on Sunday. The junior goalkeeper is 10 away from reaching 200 or her career.Â
The Hokies are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to then-No. 2 North Carolina in their ACC opener. Natalie Mitchell leads the team with three goals and is tied for the team lead with seven points. Samantha DeGuzman's three assists are a team best and has seven points. Alia Skinner has started in all nine matches for VT, tallying a .67 goals against average and a .846 save percentage.Â
Scouting Clemson (6-1-2, 0-1-0 ACC)
The Tigers fell to Florida State in its conference opener, 4-2. Makenna Morris and Caroline Conti scored for Clemson, while Morris has a team-high five goals and 14 points. Jenna Tobia's seven helpers leads the team. Halle Mackiewicz has a .58 GAA with 20 saves and a .800 save percentage between the posts.Â

The Eagles will hit the road next week to face Pitt on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh.Â
