
Six Straight! Eagles Dominate Notre Dame for Trip to Final Four

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Six Straight! Boston College women's lacrosse put on a dominating display of lacrosse with a 20-6 triumph over Notre Dame for a sixth straight trip to the Final Four on Thursday afternoon at Newton.
The Eagles will play ACC rival Syracuse for a berth in the national championship next Friday, May 26 in Cary, N.C. at the WakeMed Soccer Park.Â
BC is 18-3 on the season with a 12th straight win overall and at Newton in the NCAA Tournament.Â
Belle Smith turned in her best outing of the season with a season-high five goals and eight points thanks to three assists. Jenn Medjid posted four scores, three goals and seven points in the triumph.Â
Kayla Martello and Courtney Weeks registered hat tricks, while Mckenna Davis posted three helpers, one goal and four points.Â
It was all BC after Notre Dame took an early 2-1 lead, as the Eagles went on a 6-0 run that stretched into the second period to capture a 7-2 commanding lead.Â
The Eagles pushed the lead to six after Cassidy Weeks answered a Kasey Choma goal with back-to-back scores. Medjid's ended the half with a tally to give BC 10-4 showing going into the break.Â
Boston College's offense didn't slow down in the final two periods, firing in five straight before Notre Dame got on the board. The Eagles tacked on another five goals in the final frame, giving BC its second game of the season with 20 or more goals.Â
The defense was just as dominating, holding ND to six goals after scoring 21 and 16 in the first two rounds, respectively. Both of the Fighting Irish's lowest-scoring outings have come against Boston College.Â
Seven Eagles posted a caused turnover with Shea Baker tallying a pair. Andrea Reynolds led the way with six draw controls. Shea Dolce stopped five shots in the win for her 14th victory of the year.Â
