Boston College Earns 5th in Women's Team Race National Championship

Eagles secured two top-ten finishes in championship events over the weekend

STANFORD, Calif. — Boston College Sailing placed 5th out of 12 competing teams at the Women's Team Race National Championship, hosted by Stanford University over the weekend.

The Eagles got off to a fast start in the opening round, securing an 8-3 race record with six first place finishes, and two top-three spots in seven of the eleven races. Boston College just missed the top-four qualifying mark for round three, going 8-8 overall and earning fifth place behind MIT, Brown, Stanford, and the champions Yale.

Boston College also raced in the New England Fleet Race Championship, placing 9th of 18 in the conference regatta hosted by Connecticut College. The Eagles' A Division Team earned six top-five finishes, and eleven top-ten finishes in fourteen total races. Harvard won the event with the low score of 131.
