Sailing Competes in NEISA Fleet Race Championships and Dinghy Cup

Eagles look ahead to national championships at Tulane
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College Sailing was back for another busy weekend, racing in two NEISA championships and the Boston Dinghy Cup. The Eagles would take fourth in the Dinghy Cup, 5th in the NEISA Open Fleet Race Championships, and 11th at the NEISA Women's Fleet Race Championships.

Boston College started with the Boston Dinghy Cup, hosted by MIT. Division A, sailed by Alex Lech, Emily Marlas, and Damien Bocan, opened in second place with 36 points. Roger Casellas and Abbie Catalano followed with a 62-point showing for Division B, good for sixth place, and Aidan Cunningham rounded out action in Division C, finishing eighth with 64 points. The combined score of 162 placed the team fourth overall.

In the NEISA Women's Fleet Race Championships, the Eagles claimed 11th place with 212 total points. A Division's Caroline Sibilly, Kennedy Laureigh, and Gabrielle Trinter finished with 70 points, good for sixth. Kate Joslin, Lanie Ferrarone, and Paige Roby followed in B Division, accumulating 142 points.

Boston College closed the weekend with the NEISA Open Fleet Race Championships. In A Division, Peter Joslin, Peter Busch, and Madeline Torrey recorded 99 points to finish 11th place. At the same time, Jack Redmond, Tanner Krygsveld, Christian Yanoti, and Sydney Lombard took first place after earning 39 points—the combined score of 138 points placed BC in fifth.

The Eagles return to action next weekend, competing in the Open Team Race National Championships from April 23-25, and Women's Team Race National Championships from April 26-27. Action will take place at Tulane University.
