Kayla Martello Added to 2023 Tewaaraton Watch List

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior lacrosse attacker Kayla Martello has been added to the first round of additions for the 2023Â Tewaaraton Award on Thursday.Â
Martello joins Belle Smith, Jenn Medjid, Hollie Schleicher and Sydney Scales as the five Eagles on the watch list.Â
The New York native is following up her breakout sophomore campaign with a team-high 19 goals and is tied for third on the team with 21 points. Her .722 shot on goal percentage is a career best and is .39 percentage points higher than last season. In the last two seasons, Martello has 64 goals in 29 games (6 in first 15).Â
Martello is tied for sixth in the ACC in goals scored and has posted three hat tricks. Through the first six contests last season, Martello had just 12 scores and 15 points.Â
Martello and the Eagles return to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Louisville in the first game inside Alumni.Â
