Eagles Begin Road Trip with Clemson

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College begins a three-game road swing with No. 24 Clemson in the first-ever matchup against the Tigers on Thursday at 4 p.m.
About the Eagles
Last Time Out
Boston College started slow but finished fast as it rolled past Louisville on Saturday with a 19-8 win in Alumni Stadium. The Eagles finished the game on a 18-3 run after trailing 5-1 early in the game. Belle Smith and Jenn Medjid dominated the Cardinals, combining for 11 goals and four assists. Smith scored a season-high six times while Mejid posted a season-best nine points with five scores and four helpers.Â
A Win Would
- Give BC a 6-2 mark and 3-1 record in the ACC.Â
- Give the Eagles their first road win of the season.Â

Medjid Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week
Mejdid had her best week of the season with eight goals, a team-high six assists, and 14 points in BC's two wins over Brown and Louisville. She also posted an impressive .785 shot on goal percentage. She totaled three goals and two assists against Brown before turning in a stellar outing in the 19-8 win over UofL on Saturday. Medjid tied a personal best with nine points off five scores and a personal-high four helpers, having a hand in nine of the Eagles' goals. The New York native has tallied at least five points in five of six appearances and a hat trick in the same span. In addition, she is one of two players in the league with at least 20 goals and 10 assists.Â
Nothing Easy
In the first seven games, six of BC's opponents were ranked, while it'll be eight of nine after facing No. 24 Clemson and No. 6 Denver. BC has the toughest schedule in the country, where its opponents have a combined 32-7 mark and .821 win percentage.Â
Rising up the Ranks
After Medjid's 14-point week against Brown and Louisville, the graduate student is now in the top five in school history in goals and points. She is nine goals away from becoming the third Eagle with Sam Apuzzo and Charlotte North to tally at least 250-career points and 200-career goals. B. Smith is also making her way up the list, where she is 15th all-time with 175 points.Â
Coming on Along
Belle Smith is coming on strong with 11 goals, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the last two wins.The junior midfielder had just nine goals in the previous five games before Brown and Louisville. She has 20 goals and seven assists on the season.
Scouting Clemson (7-2, 1-2 ACC)
The Tigers are in their first year as a program, boasting a 7-2 mark and ride a three-game win streak after upsetting No. 10 Duke.
Sofia Chepenik led the Tigers with four goals, while she was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week.
Clemson is third in the country in scoring, averaging 16.7 goals per game and second in scoring defense, allowing 6.11 per contest.
Hanna Hilcoff is one of two players with at least 25 scores, as her 29 leads the way. Gianna New is second with 27
Chepenik leads the team with 10 assists.
Emily Lamparter has started between the posts in all nine games, boasting a .546 save percentage with 59 saves.Â
