HEMPSTEAD, N.Y– Boston College won against Hofstra 8-0 on Saturday afternoon in the second game of the series. The Eagles improve to 14-7 and the Pride move to 5-12 on the season.Â
Contrary to the first game earlier today, BC got their offense going early and often. Sophomore Hannah Slike wasted no time, hitting her second home run of the season in the first inning to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.Â
In the top of the fourth, Freshman Meghan Schouten hit her first career home run to make the score 4-0. Then, Slike went yard again, this time a two run shot that sent Kali Case in for the score as well. The Sophomore was on fire in this one, she finished with three hits in four at bats, 2 HR, three RBI, and three total runs scored. This was her first multi home run game of her career.Â
Graduate pitcher Susannah Anderson got the start and the win, she pitched a complete game, recording four strikeouts, and allowing just two hits in 18 at bats. With the win today she improves her record as a starter this season to 6-5.Â
Boston College will conclude their three game series later this weekend. More details on timing will be announced as soon as possible.Â
