
Eagles Sweep Hofstra Series 3-0

BC wins eighth straight game, longest win streak since 2018
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y-- Boston College Softball picked up a win against Hofstra 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Bill Edwards Stadium to closeout the series, they have now won eight consecutive games which is their longest win streak since 2018 when the Eagles won 13 in a row.
BC improves their record to 15-7 with the win, Freshman Pitcher Halie Pappion started the game for BC, she pitched four innings allowing three hits, striking out two batters and walking two.
Graduate Sofia Earle came in to get the win when the game was tied at 3-3 and Sophomore Abby Dunning came in to get her second save of the season.Â
Hofstra started the game quick going out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but Freshman Meghan Schouten doubled in the second to get the Eagles on the board. Then in the top of the third Nicole Giery reached on a fielders choice that sent Freshman Zoe Hines in for the score. Then Kam Warman was walked that forced a run for Kali Case to tie up the game.Â
Hofstra homered in the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead. In the sixth, Hannah Slike continued her clutch hitting bringing in Alexis Dale who was a pinch runner, then later in the sixth Abi Knight got a base hit that brought Case home once again. BC swept a series for the second consecutive weekend after winning against UCSD previously.Â
BC will now prepare for a game on Tueday against MerrimackÂ
