Eagles Come Up Short Against FAU
February 19, 2023 | Softball
FORT MYERS, FLA – Boston College lost to FAU 6-4 on Saturday night, the Eagles move to 6-3 on the season while the Owls improve their record to 5-4.Â
Both offenses started fast to begin the game,  with three runs through 1.5 innings with FAU leading 2-1. Then in the top of the fourth inning, BC was able to tie up the game at 2-2 off of a home run from Freshman catcher Maycee Hilt, which was her first home run of her BC career.Â
FAU immediately responded in the bottom of the fourth off an error from the Eagles defense. Then in the top of the sixth, Boston College took a 4-3 lead off some clutch hitting from Sophomore Darien McDonough to bring in Hannah Slike and Alexis Dale to score. Mcdonough had herself another good performance in this one, recording two hits, two RBI and a run scored in just three at bats to lead the way on offense for BC.Â
The Owls would go on to get the win after a three run inning in the sixth to seal it off a number of errors from BC.Â
Boston College Softball will travel to Boca Raton next weekend for the FAU Invitational which will begin on Friday at 9 a.m with a matchup against Wisconsin.Â
